Why Our Massage Therapists Are Different
Our massages are outcome-based. In addition to stress relief and relaxation massages, our therapeutic medical massage focuses on a medical issue if needed. Our techniques are specialized when compared to general massage (commonly offered throughout the community). Spa massage and medical massage may feel similar, but their techniques differ greatly and our therapists are trained to give both. Our therapists will use a broader set of therapies for muscle health and recovery that include specific follow-up recommendations. Our therapist will provide a targeted plan for treatment while also focusing on mental and psychological wellness.
Our Massage Therapists are specially trained and customize your massage to aide in the following:
- Releasing sore and tight muscles that can cause a lack of blood supply to soft tissues and hypersensitivity to touch; known as Ischemia
- Pain management
- Reduce Inflammation
- Relieving nerve entrapment and compression
- Deactivating Myofascial trigger points
- Decreasing pain and inflammation
- Improving circulation and alleviating stress
- Aiding digestion
- Improving flexibility and range of motion
- Calming the nervous system
- Improving coordination and posture
- Helping prevent future chronic pain conditions
- Treat other health concerns
- Scar tissue management
- PTSD management
- Post Op recovery
- Lymphatic Drainage
How can Massage Therapy help you?
Each massage can be done by itself or combined into one session. Massage will make you feel relaxed as it releases endorphins. There are many benefits from massage such as pain relief, headache relief, anxiety reduction, and increased blood circulation. It can also help you have better sleep, flexibility, muscle tone, and more.
Whether you or a loved one suffer from vertigo, brain injury, balance issues, adrenal issues, or spinal cord injury, massage may help more than you think. Massage helps with pain, circulation, wound healing, depression, and anxiety.
Massage also helps with dizziness and vertigo by releasing stress, tension, and compression in the muscle. It can help to relieve neck pain, stiffness, ear pain, tinnitus, and headache, all of which add to vertigo.
Types of Massages
Relaxation
Relaxes the muscles with the gentle gliding strokes that have the ability to flush out all of the metabolic waste from the muscles. This will help you to heal faster. This is a relaxing massage ideal for anyone or the first timer. The touch of the skin also helps to relax the person and to clear their mind of anything that might be bothering them. Therapists suggest a relaxation massage to anyone who is feeling run down and on the brink of depression, and can help you sleep.
Cranial Massage
Massage of the head and neck. Very relaxing and rejuvenating at the same time. This massage may lift your mood and your sense of well-being. There are many muscles in your neck and head that can help relax several muscles throughout the body and spine.
Craniosacral
Cranial sacral therapy (also known as craniosacral therapy) is a gentle, noninvasive form of bodywork that addresses the bones of the head, spinal column and sacrum. The goal is to release compression in those areas which alleviates stress and pain. Craniosacral therapy can help to improve the functioning of the nervous system, relieving pain and improving mobility. CST has been used to treat a variety of conditions, both physical and psychological.
Reflexology
This massage is very relaxing and allows the therapist the ability to access every part of the body through pressure points in the hands and feet.
Myofascial Release
Fascia is a very densely woven, covering and interpenetrating every muscle, bone, nerve, artery and vein, as well as, all of our internal organs including the heart, lungs, brain and spinal cord. It is actually one continuous structure that exists from head to toe without interruption. In this way you can begin to see that each part of the entire body is connected to every other part by the fascia, like the yarn in a sweater. When the Fascia is tight the range of motion is affected, as well as impinging on one’s overall comfort level.
Neuromuscular Stripping (Medical Massage)*
A slow controlled movement along the muscle that is tight and causing pain or restrictions, and trigger point. This massage techniques helps with pain management, flexibility, and range of motion.
* May require a prescription
Deep Tissue
Massage getting to the deeper layers muscle helping heal from chronic pain, or trauma. Also good for getting rid of scar tissue.
